Jayanth Sinha
Jayanth Sinha’s journey to becoming one of India's most respected filmmakers began far from the mainstream. Born in Amravati, Maharashtra and raised in Mumbai, he was deeply influenced by his early exposure to street theatre and the charged socio-political landscape around him. He started his career as a software engineer, working with IT giant’s like Infosys and TCS, later joining NYFA and Canterbury University to get his Masters in advertising and film making and later joining various agencies and crafting emotionally resonant narratives in short formats before founding his production house, Cinedreams Productions. As a filmmaker, Jayanthh brings a quiet observational lens to the big screen-eschewing melodrama for nuance, and spectacle for soul.
He has consistently championed layered character-driven stories that challenge societal norms while staying rooted in everyday Indian life. Whether it's exploring Hindu-Muslim love story ‘Mehryaar’, Udaipur Trailor’s brutal murder in ‘Udaipur Files’ or an autobiographical masterpiece ‘Emergency’
Jayanthh’s contributions lie in making complex, often uncomfortable themes accessible, poetic, and profoundly human. Jayanth Sinha’s filmography doesn't just span genres-it shapes them with thoughtfulness and intent. Across his body of work, there's a quiet assurance in how he tells stories-never hurried, never loud, always grounded in emotional truth. He finds poetry in the mundane, purpose in silence, and meaning in relationships that unfold through unspoken tensions and tender gestures.
Software engineer-turned-filmmaker, Jayanthh’s organic storytelling and passion for cinema have propelled him to leave indelible marks in Hollywood films, including “This is Our Time“ and “The Monkey Men”. He continues to push boundaries and bring forth poignant stories.
Jayanthh is known for making micro-budget feature films.
